DTM Shanghai Invitational
The
DTM will stage its first ever race in the Far East -
and the first ever internationally-recognized event
in Shanghai - with a non-championship outing on a street
circuit in the city's financial district.
The event, which will take the form of a fiercely-contested
demonstration over two 30-minute races, will feature
a slightly unfamiliar line-up, but will still boast
20 drivers, with Audi fielding eight cars instead of
its usual six, likewise Mercedes-Benz, while Opal sends
a reduced four-man entry.
Audi will contest the Patrons Shanghai International
Race Festival with its six regular A4s - to be driven
by Christian Abt, Frank Biela, Mattias Ekstrom, Tom
Kristensen, Emanuele Pirro and Martin Tomczyk - while
both 'works' teams also field another car for Le Mans
star Rinaldo Capello and young protege Peter Terting.
Capello will be out in a seventh A4, while Terting is
reunited with the TT-R he drove in the series last year.
